On Saturday evening, 13 couples took to the dance floor at Towcester Leisure Centre for this years Strictly Towcester.

Local hero’s joined dancers from local Step By Step School, run by Viv Rhymes.

The hero’s had just five weeks to learn two dances each.

This years winner was Catharine Tarbun, with her dance partner Ben Lally. Catharine is a District Councillor for Towcester, as well as being the Chair of Towcester Primary School PTA and is a member of Towcester Choral Society, along with other local groups.

Catharine decided to join the team of Strictly this year as a challenge to herself. “Not only am I able to learn to dance, but I am raising money and awareness for the amazing Lighthouse Centre.”

Second place went to local hero Brian Ramoo and his dance partner Emily Tallon and third place went to local hero Paul Boggeln and his partner Claire Howard.

The night was a fantastic event, raising over £3,000 for The Lighthouse Centre which was set up by a Step by Step dancer Gemma Dearsley. Speaking about the charity on the night she said “These events are wonderful they are fantastic shows which are lots of fun and raise awareness and money for our wonderful charity”.
