So with just 4 days to go until the launch of Strictly Towcester 2019, things are getting very exciting. Our local heroes have their sponsorship pages in place, they are starting to get sponsorship, sell tickets and get VERY excited about the thought of stepping out of their comfort zone and learning their dances.
The group is already starting to become a family, we message frequently, we will start to build those life long friendships, which are invaluable. Those who dance together stay together!
One of our previous local heroes who is also part of the TLC family took part and here’s what Wendy
had to say;
When I was asked to represent The Lighthouse Centre as a hero in Strictly Towcester 2015 I was immensely proud and honoured to have been asked. I have never danced proffesionaly so was excited but petrified at the same time. As time went on and we had more lessons I began to really enjoy myself. On the odd occasion I made an idiot of myself too like falling over. But there were also times when I did get frustrated as I couldn’t grasp something, but the amazing people we had support us soon rallied round and got me over the hurdle. On the night it was a mixture of nerves and excitement. But despite a slight hiccup on the night I throughly enjoyed it. The time wized by! I would recommend anyone try it. It’s a fantastic experience and something to be proud of raising money for charity whilst having fun.
Here is Wendy pictures with the lovely Jo who stepped in very last minute to partner her as Wendy’s partner was poorly. Both of the ladies did an amazing job, Wendy just danced like a natural, underneath the nerves were quivering but never at any point did we know about it!
